Fireline Beading Thread Review
If you’re wondering what the best beading thread is for seed beads and embroidery, I can share my experience. After years of beading, I’ve tested many brands, and one thread always stands out: Fireline Beading Thread.
My Journey with Beading Threads
Like many new beaders, I first tried Nymo thread. It worked, but I didn’t love it. The tension felt strange, and it frayed easily. Over time, I searched for something stronger. Eventually, I found Fireline Beadsmith Microfused Braided Thread, and it completely changed my beading experience.
Why Fireline Works So Well
Fireline is smooth, durable, and doesn’t snag on needles. Unlike Nymo or One-G, it keeps beadwork tight and structured. Even after hours of peyote stitch or brick stitch, my projects hold their shape. This thread also melts cleanly with a thread burner, sealing knots with almost no smell.
Best Sizes for Different Projects
-
4 lb weight: Ideal for tiny size 13 seed beads.
-
6 lb weight: My favorite for flat stitch embroidery and sewing around gems.
-
8 lb weight: Best for peyote stitch and brick stitch where structure matters.

These options make Fireline flexible for many projects. However, it’s not perfect for wrap beading since it doesn’t stretch.
How It Compares to Other Threads
Compared to Nymo, Fireline is stronger and more reliable. WildFire thread is also strong but feels stiffer and harder to knot. One-G is silky and smooth, but it can’t match Fireline’s durability. Overall, Fireline balances strength, flexibility, and ease of use better than most.

Final Thoughts
For me, Fireline is the best beading thread for Delica beads, peyote stitch, brick stitch, and bead embroidery. It has earned a permanent spot in my beadwork kit. If you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend testing it in your next project.
