Fireline Product Review - Fireline Beading Thread Review by Sundaylace Creations. If you’re searching for the best beading thread for seed beads, bead embroidery, peyote stitch, or brick stitch, let me share what’s worked for me after years of trial and error with my fireline product review that looks at the differences between beading thread!

Fireline Beading Thread

My Beading Thread Journey

Like many new beaders, I started with Nymo thread, but honestly, it never felt right. The tension was inconsistent, it frayed easily, and it just didn’t hold up when I wanted a polished finish.

That all changed when I discovered Fireline Beading Thread by Beadsmith (the microfused braided bead thread, not the fishing line). Once I tried Fireline, I was hooked for life.

Why I Love Fireline for Beadwork

  • Strong & Durable: Fireline doesn’t stretch, sag, or snap while you’re working, which means my beadwork holds its shape beautifully.

  • Perfect for Seed Beads: The 4 lb weight works perfectly with size 13 seed beads (tiny beads that need a finer thread), while the 6 lb is my go-to for flat stitching around gems or size 11/0 Delicas. The 8 lb is stiffer, making it amazing for peyote stitch and brick stitch projects where you want structure.

  • Tangle-Free: Unlike softer threads, it doesn’t snag on the needle or knot up while weaving.

  • Easy to Finish: Fireline melts cleanly with a thread burner, leaving almost no smell and sealing knots neatly against beading foundation.

How Fireline Compares

  • Vs. Nymo: Nymo is softer and more flexible, but it frays and stretches. Fireline is stronger and cleaner, making it a better choice for advanced bead embroidery.

  • Vs. WildFire: WildFire is also strong, but stiffer and harder to knot. One-G feels silkier, but doesn’t have Fireline’s durability.

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Fireline isn’t ideal for wrap beading or projects that need thread flexibility.

  • Because it has no give, it can feel stiff for certain styles. But for most flat stitch, peyote, brick stitch, and bead embroidery projects, it’s unbeatable.

Final Thoughts

For me, Fireline is hands down the best beading thread for Delica beads, flat stitch embroidery, and structured beadwork. I use it daily in my projects and recommend it to any beader looking for a reliable, high-quality thread.

Have you tried Fireline or do you prefer Nymo, One-G, or WildFire? Drop your thoughts in the comments—I’d love to hear what thread works best for you.

Happy Beading,
